Now recognised as a cult rod, the benefits of the design are apparent to a wide range of specialist anglers. The types of carbon fibre Century use are genuinely leading edge. The understated silk finish on the surface of the Century NG seals an incredibly complex arrangement of patterns designed to give the carp angler the most advanced multi-range rod available. The carbon patterns are cut using a CAD CAM machine that holds extremely tight tolerances. This ensures the action and test curve is faithfully reproduced from rod to rod. Frank Warwick has spent thousands of hours fishing NG’s and has provided feedback from every conceivable scenario likely to be encountered. Frank is recognised as an innovative and demanding angler who will take tackle to the limit. Tests completed on his early rods have indicated little or no test curve decay over a period of 3 years – clearly a benefit attributable to Autoclaving technology.
One unique aspect to the Century NG range is that test curves allocated to each model represent the dynamic rating. They then play out a fish as though almost a pound lighter.
The Century NG features lightweight size 40 to 12 SiC guides that benefit tip recovery. Silk-grey finish, GripFast handle, Fuji DPS reel seat, and etched stainless collar and cap.
The 12' and 13’ NG 3lb S/U (Stepped Up) are extremely effective for medium to long range – without the use of shock leaders. The revised action protects the line during the casting cycle to reduce the chance of crack offs, gives good shock absortion with braided line and also gives added control when snag fishing.
New for 2009, the Century NG is now fitted with the SB20 engraved, part stainless custom reel seat and features woven 2k-2k carbon below the seat and 1k-1k above the seat - up to the first ring on the tip. The surface finish is matt and sealed with PTFE/Silicone. All rods are supplied with size 40 ringing configurations unless size 50 is specified. Size 50 is standard on SU models. Also featured is stainless steel ball butt stop.
Available in 2.75lb, 3lb S/U, 3.25lb or 3.5lb test curve. All 12ft models.
