The entry level Alivio is a great combination of Shimano quality and cost effective price. Built using XT30 carbon the blank is slim and fitted with a high quality handle, reel seat and guides. The three models all come with interchangeable quivertips.

Plenty of grunt to put out big method baits, excellent fish playing ability and great bite detection. |
| Weaknesses: |
Small reel seat makes it hard to fit (but not impossible) a 4000 size reel, its better suited to a 3000 |

A great buy that hasn't disappointed, its landed plenty of good size fish with ease. I've never found it wanting. |
