Love it or hate it leadcore has a place in modern day carp fishing. It has attracted a lot of negative press mainly though its misuse rather than the product itself, this is usually the case when a product gets bad press, nothing is invincible.
Korda's leadcore leaders have three layers to them, a lead wire core with a coloured Dacron sheath around it (this gives it the colour) with a smoky nylon weave around that for durability and abrasion resistance. They are double spliced; i.e. both the Dacron inner and nylon outer are spliced at the same time making them much stronger than splicing the nylon outer alone which is what all the competition does. They come in Weedy Green, Muddy Brown and Khaki to match the rig tubes.
