The Prodigy landing net has been built to the same specifications as the award winning Prodigy rod. This is a net built for durability, with stainless collars on the arms, to prevent the carbon being crushed when pushed into the spreader block. The spreader block itself made out of anodized aluminum to minimise weight. It features a 3/8th BSF brass thread, there’s also a slot on both sides of the spreader block for an isotope. The net handle incorporates a clip system, which enables you to keep the bulk of the net mesh out of the way while netting a fish. This will avoid the net getting caught on any obstructions on the lakebed. The medium-deep mesh allows you to disassemble the arms with the fish still in the water. The incredibly stiff carbon pole features a comfortable duplon grip with a laser etched butt cap.

There is so much to say about this vital piece of equipment, lets start with the handle, a 6' lightweight but very strong piece of carbon, the laser etched but cap gives a nice finish, the spreader block is circular rather than v shaped, machined from a solid block of aluminuim, there is also a clip attatched to the handle, this is to secure the ring attatched to the base of the net keeping it suspended when lifting up over bank side vegitation, once a fish is in the net the weight of the fish releases the ring, simple idea but very handy. The 42" arms are also carbon but as you would expect Grey's have finished them off with steel collors for extra strength and protection, the net itself is medium to deep, has a very soft feel which will gentle on any species unfortunate enough to be drawn into it, it is also a quick dry net and comes with a nylon bag to keep in the smells, the bag also covers the handle to stop it getting scratched in transportation. |

Although this or any other net wont catch you any more fish it is still a very important piece of equipment, and one we all hope to use on a regular basis, the Grey's Prodigy net stands out as a well thought out product, one that has been designed by anglers for anglers and with the Grey's quality and specification at this price it is IMO excellent value for money. |
